When we talk about Lack of motivation, many people can relate. Sometimes, we can cut ourselves some slack because we need to rest and gather momentum. But, a lack of motivation can be a problem when it's chronic, and you make plans to get work done, you procrastinate, and the work goes undone.
When procrastinating happens repeatedly, it may be a sign of fear, low self-esteem, or low self-confidence.
When you run a business and are the sole person building the company, it is imperative to put in the needed work to grow the business. If you are not motivated enough to build your business, days and months will pass by, and success will be passing you by as well.
Also, I encourage people to start their businesses based on their talents and skill. It is easier to stay motivated and on top of things when you love what you do. But what happens when you don't have the confidence and self-esteem, or fear is blocking you from growing your business? You delay your purpose, and you "rob" people who have been aligned to benefit from your work. Believe me, whatever your job is, there is someone who God has picked to benefit from your work.
Remember, your purpose is not for you. Instead, God has created your purpose so someone can benefit from it; likewise, someone else's purpose is for you to benefit from. This realization alone motivates you to work at your craft every day.
So to recap, what makes us unmotivated?
Fear
✨Low self-esteem
✨ Lack of self-confidence
✨Procrastinating
✨ Lack of self-worth
How can we overcome these stumbling blocks?
✨Renew your mindset
✨Overcome your fear
✨Start working at your craft every day (remember practice makes a huge impact)
✨Seek counseling if needed
✨Get an accountability partner
✨Keep working even if nobody notices you (in due time, everyone will see you)
✨Remember, your work and your purpose is supposed to benefit others
Leo Buscaglia said it so succinctly "your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God."
